Do you remember Willow? This George Lucas-produced fantasy film (I would even call it a classic), starring Warwick Davies and Val Kilmer was a big hit with fantasy and Dungeons & Dragons nerds in the late 80s. It had everything; swords, dragons, sorcery, huge battles and a hero’s journey taken straight out of the pages of Joseph Campbell’s writings.
Last year we learned that Willow would return in a Disney+ series that would be a sequel to the film.
At the recent Disney+ Day, Warwick Davies himself introduced us to some of the supporting cast from the series, which is now in production: Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown), Erin Kellyman (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier), Ellie Bamber (The Serpent), Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Amar Chadha Patel (The Third Day) and Dempsey Bryk (The Birch). Willow premieres exclusively on Disney+ in 2022.
