“Hello there!”

The first behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated Star Wars spinoff series, Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, is here. Starring Ewan McGregor, who returns to the role of the titular character after 16 years, the series follows Obi-Wan Kenobi’s adventures on the desert planet of Tatooine and beyond.

In Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi we meet the Jedi Master in hiding ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. Here he spends his days protecting Anakin Skywalker’s (now the Sith Lord Darth Vader) son from being discovered by the evil Galactic Empire.

Ewan McGregor has stated his eagerness to portray the Jedi Master in a way more similar to the late Alec Guinneess’ portrayal of the character, who played Kenobi in the original 1977 Star Wars.

In addition to Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader, along with Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars. Additional cast includes Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie and Maya Erskine.

The six-episode series is written by Joby Harold and directed by Deborah Chow, who also directed two episodes of The Mandalorian.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ in 2022. Visit Disney+ and check out the new page and teaser for this upcoming Star Wars series.
