The newest trailer for the upcoming DC Comics adaptation, The Batman, premiered on this year’s DC FanDome.
This time it’s Robert Pattinson’s turn to don the mask and cape of the caped crusader of Gotham City. And from the looks of it, The Batman promises to give us a much darker and grounded version of the classic crime fighter than even what Christopher Nolan and even Zack Snyder gave us.
There are other names of note here too. Andy Serkis (a name that should be familiar to all fans of fantasy and superhero franchises!) plays the butler of Wayne Manor, Alfred Pennyworth. Jeffrey Wright, recently seen in No Time to Die, The French Dispatch and Westworld, (and heard in Audible’s The Sandman audiobook), plays police commissioner James Gordon. Also, Colin Farrell plays Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, and Zoë Kravitz plays Selina Kyle/Cat Woman.
Matt Reeves directs the film. His credits include War of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield.
This trailer looks very promising. The idea of seeing Robert Pattinson as Batman/Bruce Wayne is really growing on me.
