The Norwegian science fiction drama Beforeigners was created and written by Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin and directed by Jens Lien. The new season consists of 6 episodes and is produced for HBO Max by Rubicon TV.
A brutal murder in Oslo with connections to 19th-century England raises questions about whether Jack the Ripper may have made progress to the present. Lars and Alfhildr soon realize that they must first trust each other before they stand a chance to get to the killer. In parallel with their investigation, Lars has to deal with domestic unrest when his daughter hooks up with a Norse meteorologist, and Alfhildr comes into contact with a mysterious volve, who turns out to have significant knowledge of Alfhildr’s background. And for Norway’s eternal king, Olav Haraldsson, life in the present is entirely different from what he has envisaged.
Krista Kosonen and Nicolai Cleve Broch are back in the lead roles as Alfhildr and Lars. We also get a reunion with Tobias Santelmann (Olav the Saint), Stig Henrik Hoff (Tore Hund), Ragnhild Gudbrandsen (Wenche), Stig Amdam (Harald), Agnes Kittelsen (Marie), Ylva Bjørkaas Thedin (Ingrid), Kyrre Haugen Sydness (Gregers) and Pål Sverre Hagen (Doctoral Duck).
